The Woman Behind the Red Pen
So who am I?
My name is Theresa Crouse. There's no big corporation, or even any other employees, though I do have a wonderful network of other indie professionals that I work with regularly, should you need other services. I have bachelor degrees from WV Wesleyan College in English literature with a minor in creative writing, and another one in psychology with a minor in philosophy, just in case I decided to take the road to fame and fortune and become a lawyer instead of a writer. I did not, and though I'm poorer as an editor and indie writer, I'm probably happier.
I edit because I love doing it, and because I deplore putting down a book that would be great if it weren't full of errors. I also know that indie writers have a tough time finding an affordable professional editor, so I strive to fill that gap. I don't Google to figure out whether to use "were" or "is," nor should any editor. I follow the guidelines of the CMoS, and The Elements of Style is never far from my side. You know, just in case.
I could go on and on, but the proof is in the pudding. Check out my testimonials on the home page, or email me a 1500-word sample of your manuscript and I'll evaluate it and edit it for free. At that point, we'll decide if we want to work together. After all, life's to short to do something you don't want to do - unless you're talking about paying a professional editor! :)

Professional Editing for Traditional and Indie Writers
Though I work with authors published via traditional houses, my heart is in the indie world. However, if you need help getting your manuscript ready to submit to a publishing house, give me a shout. I'd love to help you reach the stars!
